The Final Bell Changes People
There is a very specific kind of energy that appears at the end of a long workday.
All day, you are professional. Focused. Helpful. Patient.
Then the clock hits quitting time and suddenly you are moving like someone just announced free food in the parking lot.
Someone says, “Hey, do you have a minute?”
You check the time.
“No.”
Not because you do not care.
Not because the work is not important.
But because that “one minute” has a suspicious history of becoming 27 minutes, three follow-up emails, and something added to tomorrow’s calendar.
Boundaries are funny like that.
During the day, I will give you my best.
After the day is over, I am trying to remember where I parked.
See you tomorrow.
