Responsibilities

Tutors are expected to create engaging, student-centered lessons based on each learner’s goals, needs, and skill level. Tutors must explain concepts clearly, provide constructive feedback, communicate professionally with students and guardians when appropriate, and maintain accurate availability.

Tutors are also responsible for managing their own schedules, arriving prepared for confirmed sessions, protecting student privacy, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, and following all New To Education content, quality, and conduct standards.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have at least two years of teaching, tutoring, training, mentoring, or related instructional experience. Tutors should demonstrate strong knowledge of the subjects they offer, effective written and verbal communication, reliable internet access, and familiarity with online teaching or digital communication tools.

Applicants must also be organized, dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with learners from different educational and cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant degrees, teaching licenses, professional certifications, tutoring credentials, or subject-specific qualifications are preferred. Experience teaching international learners, supporting diverse learning needs, creating instructional materials, or using platforms such as Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Canva, or learning-management systems is also preferred.

Compensation

Tutors receive 70% of the applicable booking fee and may set their own rates based on their qualifications, experience, subject area, and services offered. Earnings are not guaranteed and depend on tutor availability, student demand, completed bookings, and continued compliance with platform requirements.

Content and Conduct Standards

All lessons, resources, and uploaded materials must be accurate, professional, age-appropriate, and suitable for a diverse audience. Plagiarized, misleading, discriminatory, sexually explicit, graphic, unauthorized, or otherwise inappropriate content may result in content removal, account suspension, or removal from the New To Education platform.
